Ask Before You Act
Before you make the decision, ask for wisdom.
It is easy to pray after we have made a decision. We ask God to bless the direction we have already chosen, solve the difficulty we have created, or give us strength for the road we have already started down.
But prayer can do more than help us carry out our plans. It can help shape them.
Before one decision today—a conversation, a purchase, a response, a commitment, or even the use of your time—stop and ask God for wisdom.
Not simply, “Please let this work.”
Ask instead, “Is this the right thing to do?”
Then give yourself enough quiet to consider that the answer may not be the one you expected.
Today’s Work: Before one decision today, ask God for wisdom before you act.
Masonry works when it’s done daily.
