The Everyday Mason - Tell Him While You Can

Tell Him While You Can

We sometimes save our best words about people for occasions when they aren’t there to hear them.

We tell someone else what a good man he is.

We mention how much a Brother helped us years ago.

We talk about the example he set, the kindness he showed, or the difference he made in our life.

And someday, perhaps, those words become part of a eulogy or memorial.

But there is a better time to say them.

While he can still hear them.

Think of one Brother who has influenced you.

Maybe he taught you something when you were new to Masonry. Maybe he encouraged you when you needed it. Maybe you’ve simply watched the way he lives and thought, That’s the kind of Mason I want to be.

Tell him.

It doesn’t need to be a speech.

A phone call. A text. A handshake followed by one honest sentence:

“Brother, I don’t know if I’ve ever told you this, but you’ve made a difference in my life.”

Then tell him how.

Brotherhood isn’t only being there when someone needs us.

Sometimes it’s making sure a good man knows his work has mattered.

Today’s Work: Tell one Brother specifically how his example, friendship, or encouragement has made a difference in your life.
