Notice What Changed You
We often measure a day by what we accomplished.
What did I finish?
What did I fix?
What did I check off the list?
Those things matter.
But before today becomes yesterday, there is another question worth asking:
What happened today that changed me?
Maybe someone said something that made you think differently.
Maybe you made a mistake and finally understood why.
Maybe you watched a Brother handle a difficult situation with more patience than you would have.
Maybe something you read challenged an opinion you’ve held for years.
Or maybe—as happened to me once—the teacher was someone you never expected.
Growth doesn’t always announce itself.
Sometimes a lesson passes quietly through our day, and unless we stop long enough to notice it, tomorrow arrives before we’ve understood what we were given.
Tonight, don’t only inspect what you accomplished.
Inspect what you learned about yourself.
Because the purpose of learning isn’t simply to know something tomorrow that you didn’t know yesterday.
It’s to become someone tomorrow that you weren’t yesterday.
Today’s Work: Before the day ends, identify one thing that changed the way you think, act, or understand yourself.
Masonry works when it’s done daily.
