A Few Minutes Well Spent
We often tell ourselves that we don’t have enough time.
Not enough time to call a friend. Not enough time to help a neighbor. Not enough time to sit quietly and reflect on the day.
Yet somehow, we find a few minutes for things that matter far less.
As Masons, we’re introduced to the Twenty-Four-Inch Gauge as a reminder to divide our time wisely. But perhaps its greatest lesson isn’t simply how we divide our hours. It’s how we use the moments within them.
A five-minute conversation can encourage a struggling Brother. A brief word of kindness can change someone’s day. A few moments in prayer can help us remember what truly matters.
We don’t always need more time. Sometimes we need to be more intentional with the time we’ve been given.
Today’s Work:
Set aside ten minutes today for something that matters but that you’ve been putting off. Call a Brother, help someone with a small task, or spend a few quiet moments in reflection.
Give those minutes your full attention.
Tonight, ask yourself:
Did I use my time today in a way that reflected my Masonic principles?
Masonry works when it’s done daily.
