Go See Him.
There are many ways to let a Brother know we’re thinking about him.
We can send a text.
Make a phone call.
Drop a card in the mail.
And every one of those things matters.
But sometimes there is no substitute for showing up.
A Brother may be recovering from an illness. He may no longer be able to attend Lodge regularly. He may have lost someone he loves. Or life may simply have made his world a little smaller than it once was.
We often say:
“We ought to go see him.”
Maybe the better question is:
When?
And sometimes the answer doesn’t have to be complicated.
Call another Brother.
Get in the truck.
Go together.
You don’t need a program, a committee, or an official Lodge visitation.
You just need a couple of Brothers willing to give someone part of their Saturday.
Because when two Brothers pull into the driveway, climb out of the truck, and walk toward that porch, they are saying something before they ever speak:
“Brother, you still belong to us.”
That’s Brotherhood.
Not simply remembering someone’s name when the Lodge is open.
Remembering the man when he can’t be there.
Today’s Work: Think of a Brother who doesn’t get out as much as he once did. Ask another Brother to go with you—and go see him.
Masonry works when it’s done daily.
